Tesla’s Elon Musk appeared in his first solo event in support of Donald Trump outside of Philadelphia.
On Thursday night, Elon Musk took to the campaign trail for his first solo event in support of former President Donald Trump as he seeks to win over battleground voters. Musk, the billionaire PayPal founder-turned Tesla CEO who previously endorsed Trump earlier this election cycle, has become increasingly more political in recent years, including his high-profile acquisition of Twitter in October 2022. Fast forward two years, and Musk has been a vocal supporter of free speech, the 2nd Amendment, and anti-cancel culture movements. This week, it was the America PAC event at Ridley High School in the suburb of Folsom where Musk took to the stage, immediately encouraging voters in Pennsylvania to head to the polls early to show support for Trump.
“This is literally the fundamental values that made America what it is today. And anyone who is against those things is fundamentally anti-American,” Musk said. “I am here for a very important reason,” Musk continued. “Which is – I can’t emphasize enough – Pennsylvania, I think, is the linchpin in this election. This election, I think, is going to decide the fate of America, and along with the fate of America, the fate of Western Civilization.” Democrats have claimed that a Donald Trump victory in 2024 could mean the end of American democracy.
Musk also made clear that he and Former President Trump view Kamala Harris as every bit as dangerous as she and President Biden view their adversaries. Musk, who recently spent $75 million of his own money on America PAC, touted the PAC’s commitment to secure borders, intelligent spending, a free justice system, free speech and the right to bear arms.
Musk, who has been widely ranked as the richest person on the planet, touched on his own business and political history, making clear that he put his money where his mouth was. He announced a new program, offering $100 to registered Pennsylvania voters to sign a petition in support of his pro-Trump PAC. Musk said the petition would focus on “pledging support for the first and second amendments” and includes an additional $100 to each voter who refers someone new to the petition.
