When McDonald’s introduced a simple tortilla-wrapped chicken tender in 2006, they likely had no idea it would leave such a lasting impression on American customers.
Fans of McDonald’s have reason to celebrate as the fast-food chain prepares to bring back a beloved menu item—the Snack Wrap—in 2025. McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger made the announcement Thursday on Good Morning America, saying, “This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.”
The Snack Wrap, which debuted in 2006 and was removed from U.S. menus eight years ago, is still a fan favorite, with loyal customers frequently calling for its return. While McDonald’s confirmed the product’s comeback, Erlinger withheld the exact launch date, citing “competitive reasons.”
The announcement also appeared on social media, with McDonald’s teasing the return on X (formerly Twitter) with a post simply reading, “snack wraps xx.xx.2025.”
The Snack Wrap isn’t the only item McDonald’s is focusing on. The chain previously revealed plans to scale its successful McCrispy chicken sandwich globally, aiming for availability in over 70 markets by the end of 2024. McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski noted that McCrispy has become a billion-dollar brand, signaling strong consumer demand.
