Fox News Host Mark Levin of Philadelphia Tapped to Join Trump Administration

Levin is the latest Fox News personality to join the administration of President Donald Trump’s second term in office.

Mark Levin, longtime talk show host and Fox News personality, is the latest to join President Trump’s administration as a member of his new Homeland Security Advisory Council. Levin is a Philadelphia native that was raised in Elkins Park.

The council is led by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and was established in 2002 following the September 11th attacks. The council serves to provide independent advice and expertise on homeland security operations across the country.

Under President Trump’s administration, the council will focus its efforts on the southern border and work to deport illegal immigrants.

In 2021, former President Biden fired nearly everyone on Trump’s first advisory council after he took office in 2021. He replaced the fired members with a bipartisan group of national security experts.

In a social media announcement on Thursday, Trump wrote, “I am proud to announce the formation of my revamped Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), which is comprised of Top Experts in their field, who are highly respected by their peers.”

“What an honor! Thank you, Mr. President!” Levin responded to the post. He was once an outspoken critic of President Trump but has supported him since his election in 2016.

Levin served in several roles within former President Ronald Reagan’s administration, including as chief of staff for Attorney General Edwin Meese before joining Fox News.

Bo Dietl, a former Fox News contributor and New York Police Department detective that appeared in several Martin Scorsese films, was also named to the Homeland Security Advisory Council. He was cut from the network in 2016 when he was accused of aiding former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes in a fight against his political enemies. Dietl has denied the claims against him.

“With decades of experience in law enforcement and security, I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work for the American people,” Dietl wrote in a post on social media.

Over 20 former Fox personalities currently serve in the Trump administration, according to recent analysis. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard are cabinet members that were formerly Fox news personalities.
