Philadelphia Celebrates Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX Win

On Friday, Eagles fans in the streets of Philadelphia celebrated a dominating Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

After a powerful performance on the field, the Eagles won the game with a score of 40 to 22 against the Chiefs, who were two-time reigning Super Bowl champs that were fighting for a third win in a row.

This was the second Super Bowl win for the Eagles, who were previously victorious in Super Bowl LII.

Fans were eager to attend the team’s second ever Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia, with over 1 million people expected to be in attendance by city officials. The parade route began at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue in South Philly at 11:00am. The parade traveled up Broad Street for about three miles before wrapping around the west side of City Hall.

The parade then passed Love Park and traveled up the Benjamin Franklin Parkway until it reached the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Fans showed up in droves dressed in Eagles green and white. The “Love Hurts” Jordan sign was a popular photo spot for parade attendees.

The Philadelphia Eagles posted a timelapse of the parade procession and streets crowded with fans to their social media accounts.

Saquon Barkley went viral for noticing the Eagles ball boy in the crowd and pulling him over the barricade to join the team in the parade.

Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman was hit in the head with a beer can during the parade and took to the stage for his speech opening with, “I bleed for this city!”

Quarterback Jalen Hurts was drafted by the Eagles in 2020. At the parade he took in the ‘Rocky’ steps, saying, “When I got drafted, I told myself I wouldn’t come to the ‘Rocky’ steps until we won a championship. And now we’re here.”

With the parade falling on Valentine’s Day, Hurts went viral for Jordan’s “Love Hurts” promotion by wearing a hoodie with the slogan.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro congratulated the Eagles while dealing a blow to the rival Dallas Cowboys, saying, “Philadelphia is America’s Team. You hear that, Dallas?”
