According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the increase in overdose opioid deaths is primarily from illicitly manufactured fentanyl.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), “illicit fentanyl, primarily manufactured in foreign clandestine labs and smuggled into the United States through Mexico, is being distributed across the country and sold on the illegal drug market.” Fentanyl has caused 4,000 fatal overdoses in Pennsylvania in 2023 alone.
Senator Bob Casey has a 3 three-cent stake in the Chinese fentanyl manufacturer, Yichang Humanwell, which is China’s largest fentanyl producer that manufactures fentanyl intended for medical use. Casey also invested through mutual funds in Jiangsu Nhwa Pharmaceutical and Sinopharm Group, which are both involved in the manufacturing and wholesale of Chinese narcotics.
While Sen. Casey claims to be tough on fentanyl, he has repeatedly opposed tough-on-fentanyl measures in the Senate. He voted against a total of $800 million in funds for opioid and narcotics detection, once in March of 2021 and again in August of 2022.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, U.S. Senate candidate David McCormick said, “Bob Casey has put his own hypocrisy and lies on display, and it’s proof why Pennsylvanians are so tired of career politicians…Casey has had 18 years to secure our border and prevent fentanyl from killing 100,000 Americans last year alone – under his weakness, this crisis has worsened beyond imagination.”
Senator Casey also has voted against key votes on the border, including Kate’s Law in 2016, which stated: “An alien who has been denied entry or removed three or more times and who later enters or attempts to enter the United States shall be fined, imprisoned for up to 10 years, or both.”
