The parade is the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the nation.
This Thanksgiving, the 106th Annual 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade will return to Philadelphia. The parade is the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the United States.
The parade route will begin at 20th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, then go east on JFK to 16th Street, then north on 16th street to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The parade will end at the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. The route is 1.4 miles total.
The parade will include floats, balloons, marching bands, and entertainers. Floats will include Strawberry Shortcake, Philadelphia’s Freedom Float, Peppa Pig, Daniel Tiger, Smurfette, and many more.
A pre-parade special is set to air on 6abc at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The opening performance will kick off at 9:00 a.m.
Parade hosts will include 6abc’s Adam Joseph, Rick Williams, Cecily Tynan, Alicia Vitarelli, and Karen Rogers.
Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White from “Wheel of Fortune”, as well as “Live” hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos will be in attendance. Actress Lisa Ann Walter of “Abbott Elementary” and contestant Susan Noles of “The Golden Bachelor” will also be at the parade. Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Santa and Mrs. Claus, will be there as well.
The event is also set to include a special celebration of America’s 250th birthday, with performances by All-Star Tap Dance Team “FanTAPulous”, Dancin’ on the Parkway! Parade Dancers, Nikki Renee Daniels and Jeff Kready with the “Philly Pops,” Parade Youth Choir, Philadelphia Ballet, Students from the Creative and Performing Arts High School, and The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Performers from across the country will be a part of the parade, including a marching band from Oak Mountain High School in Indian Springs, Alabama, Pendleton Heights Show Choir from Pendleton, Indiana, and Penn Marching Kingsmen from Mishawaka, Indiana.
Ensemble Arts Philly will give performances from “Back to the Future: The Musical,” “Shucked,” “The Sound of Music,” “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” and “Hadestown.”
The Thanksgiving Day spectacle will also be streaming on Hulu and ABCNewsLive.
